Commission an Instrument

Seman Violins is now offering custom-made instruments on commission. Players can work closely with any of our seven violin makers as they choose the right wood, model and set-up. Most importantly, we will work with musicians to build their preferred sound right into the new instrument.

If you have special requirements for your next instrument, or if you are looking for a copy of a violin that you love, we can help. We can meet the needs of smaller musicians looking for a better sounding 7/8th size instrument as well as fiddlers looking for that special sound and feel.

Prices for handmade instruments start at $5,000 for violins and go up to $30,000 for cellos, with many price-points in between. Work times vary depending on wait-lists and business volume, but target completion time for commissioned instruments is 6 months. Financing is also available with approved credit.
