Cornelia studied cello in Europe with french cellist Andre Navarra where she received diplomas in performance and pedagogy. While in Europe, she was a member of the Tibor Varga Chamber Orchestra, the Southwest German Radio Orchestra, and the Bavarian Symphony in Munich. Upon returning to the U.S. she has performed with the Chicago Symphony, Concertante di Chicago, and the Chicago Philharmonic. She is a passionate teacher and enjoys working with all ages. Her teaching philosophy is to make learning fun, and to help her students develop a love for making music together with others.

Megan is a Suzuki violin teacher in Evanston. She holds a degree in Violin Performance from Oberlin Conservatory and has received training in Suzuki Books 1-7 and the Mark O'Connor Method Books 1-2. Matt Brown grew up in the surprisingly vibrant Philadelphia area surrounded by the old-time music of the Appalachian south. His banjo-playing father encouraged Matt to start violin lessons at a young age, while also exposing him to old-time fiddle tunes at festivals and jams. I teach private violin and viola lessons at my house in Northwest Evanston and at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL. I also offer the option of lessons at the students home (for an additional fee). I mainly teach students between the ages of 5 and 95, but am willing to consider exceptions. I have studied the Suzuki method and I use some elements of it in teaching, but I am not a strict practitioner of any particular method. Instead, I try to be flexible and to borrow from various methods to find what works best for each student.

BM in Cello Performance from the University of Denver. Currently getting MFA in music composition at Columbia College. Performed in multiple chamber groups, rock bands and orchestras.

Student taught for 2 years and has over 8 years of experience. Taught private lessons as well as at St. Mary's Academy in Denver CO, teaching violin, viola, cello and piano. Can teach violin and viola to an intermediate level, and cello and piano to advanced.

Is comfortable teaching any age, and in multiple styles. Has a back round in Suzuki, but also uses other methods depending on how the student learns.

Shawnita Tyus is a graduate with a bachelor's degree in violin performance from the University of Illinois. Currently a master's of music performance major at DePaul University. Has experience teaching Suzuki methods and also traditional methods. Is an exceptional musician and has experience in solo, orchestral and chamber music on violin. Has studied in the summer at Summit Music Festival in New York, New York University String Quartet Seminar, and Innsbrook Institute of Music. Is willing to work with students of any age and any level.

DAVID YONAN was born in Berlin, and after winning the Berlin youth competition at the age of 10, gave his recital debuts in Berlin, Moscow and St. Petersburg. At the age of 12 he made his orchestral debut at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, performing Henri Wieniawski’s Violin Concerto No.2. At age 15 he came to the United States to study with renowned violin teachers, Roland & Almita Vamos, and Dorothy DeLay

Received my Master's from Northwestern University in 2010 in Violin performance. I also have my Bachelor's from Northwestern University. At Northwestern, I studied with Roland and Almita Vamos. Currently I am a violinist in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. I am also starting my Suzuki Certification in July (2011). Jessica currently teaches Irish fiddle and Irish music for cellists, as well as beginning tin whistle, for the Irish Music School of Chicago. She teaches this music mostly in group classes, and also encourages students to continue with their classical lessons. Private lessons in Irish music may be available. She also teaches Irish fiddle classes for adults at the Old Town School of Folk Music.
