This month Seman Violins is excited to host an improvisation and electric
instrument workshop. The class will be taught by Edgar Gabriel, long time
teacher and creator of the "String Groove" method. The first half of this
specialty workshop will focus on the "String Groove" method of improvisation as
a new way to approach playing your instrument. The second half will be devoted
to electric instruments and amplification of acoustic instruments, covering
everything from amps and pickups, to instruction on how to get the highest
quality sound from your instrument.
The workshop is open to violin, viola, and cello players of all ages at an
intermediate playing level. Both acoustic and electric players are welcome.
This is an excellent opportunity for Seman Violins customers to receive
individualized instruction on the improv method, and to explore the
possibilities that come with electrifying a traditionally acoustic instrument.
We hope to see you there!
Edgar Gabriel's book "String Groove Ideas for Improvising" was published in
